Bored with your goal? Consider defining your personal Vision…

I read a comment on LinkedIn today posted by Zakiya Al Amri: “The greatest threat to success is not failure but boredom.”

It got me thinking, it’s true, for failure is just an opportunity to learn, hone our skills and improve. Boredom kills more initiatives than failure.

I personally believe boredom is a gauge that let’s a person know that allows a person to reconsider their overall goal, strategy and vision. When I or one of my clients is bored I ask one of the following questions:

What makes you bored? Is it that you have been spending so much time and energy on this goal that you have been neglecting other aspects of your life? What are they?

What makes you bored? Is it that you’ve reached a plateau and cannot see the next growth spurt in your overall strategy? How can you hone your skills and show up and shine while your actions build the momentum it needs to take you to where you are heading?

What makes you bored? Is it that the goal is not in line with your overall vision in life? Oops… Have you even defined your vision for yourself?

WHAT IS YOUR VISION?

How do you want to live your life?

How do you want to be remembered?

What do you want to contribute?

How will all this add value to you?

Answer these questions then ask yourself – How does your vision inspire you? Is it creative, ambitious and realistic to you? Does it make sense to you? Does it encompass your core values?

Hone it and work on it until you feel it is crystal clear and relevant to your uniquely amazing personality.

Now – revisit the goal that seems boring to you… Does it fit in with your vision? What are going to do next?

I am here to support you on your journey of self-discovery if you want my support…

With gratitude and love,

Ghaya
